Educational registration

List of documents to download on the application with signature of the doctoral student, the thesis director and the director of the research unit for a 3rd registration :

  • The application for 3rd registration on AMETHIS via the app
  • The doctoral student monitoring form (in French/English).
  • A provisional timetable of advancement for the third year.
  • The list of disciplinary courses followed during the past year. This list must be signed by the doctoral student and the thesis director
  • A progress report (2 pages) targeted by the thesis supervisor. This statement should highlight the progress made during the past year.
  • The list of non-disciplinary courses followed since the beginning of the thesis.
  • The training agreement (see procédure)


Any incomplete file will be refused.

 

Training in the discipline

Doctoral students must complete 18 hours of training in the discipline during the three years of the doctorate (a total of 54 hours). When enrolling in the 3rd year, the doctoral student must produce a list of 12 lectures (basic: 1 hour lectures + discussion) in the discipline of the thesis (lecturer, title, date and place) and Thematic Afternoon ( AMT) which he attended during the previous year. The doctoral student can also fulfill the obligation of fomation in the discipline by taking into account advanced training that he has followed (summer school or ED course for doctoral students in the discipline of the thesis). He will include these formations on the list of conferences

Non-disciplanry training

Doctoral students must complete 54 hours of transversal training and professional opening during the thesis). Attach to the registration application a document indicating the courses taken: document submitted by the teacher or by the College of ED. It is desirable to have followed between 2/3 and all of these courses at registration in the 3rd year. Re-enrollment in the 3rd year will not be possible in the absence of any training. It is reminded that only the juries of doctoral students in good standing with the obligations of the ESDC are examined by the Thesis Commission.

 

Administrative reinstatement

The administrative registration for a doctorate is done as soon as the secretariat of the doctoral school will have informed you by email about the validation of your teaching file. You will then be able to file online the supporting documents requested during your administrative registration and to follow the progress of the processing of your file on the new PJWEB digital service.

The final validation will be made only after receipt of the following supporting documents and payment of tuition fees:

  • Individual analysis sheet
  • Photocopy of an identity document
  • Photocopy of the visa if applicable
  • 1 photo of identity (2 if card culture, to note on the back name and surname)
  • Photocopy of the employment contract or attestation of financing of the thesis
  • Social Security Coverage (if required) and Liability Coverage
  • 1 certificate of schooling in case of parallel enrollment in another institution

For doctoral students considering a defense between September 1, 2022 and December 31, 2022

The Order of 29 April 2019 on tuition fees in public higher education institutions under the authority of the Minister for Higher Education (Article 5) allows users regularly enrolled in doctoral studies for the 2022 academic year. 2023 who support their thesis between 1 September 2022 and 31 December 2022 to enroll in PhD without paying any registration fee for the academic year 2022-2023 .

Attention, this exemption doesn't exempt from the payment of the Contribution to the Student Life and Campus (CVEC)

Please note: transitional provision this year: If you schedule to defense your thesis between September 1 and September 30, 2022, you have no steps to take (no pre-registration or CVEC payment).

If you schedule to defense your thesis between October 1st and December 31st, 2022, please complete the attached form and submit it, along with supporting documents, for your pre-registration request (https://amethis3.unistra.fr/amethis-client/)

Upon validation of your file by the doctoral school, you will have to pay the CVEC and will have the opportunity to re-register online without payment.
